When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Artist's Comments
Death is something humans have feared since the beginning of time. It is an unstoppable force; it has no cure and gives no notice.
It affects all of nature: the earth, our landscapes, trees, animals, and of course, humanity. Death is something that we all deal with, yet so many of us see it as this coarse, undeniably cursed sentence. There can be beauty found in death, for it often brings life. The decay of animals and plants add nutrients to the soil which replenish the earth and allow what is still living to continue. Pain brings knowledge, for with horrible situations we find our mistakes and faults, which prepare us for the future. Fear not death, for it is only a beginning. I wanted to go for a combination of Salvadore Dali, Georgia O'Keefe, and Frida Khalo. I'm not sure if I achieved that, but I do like the results so that's all that matters.
